It is a great pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to the 20th Annual Meeting of the Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD) in Islamabad.
Twenty annual meetings represent much more than a number. They reflect 20 years of shared learning, scientific progress, professional friendships, and a collective commitment to improving the lives of patients with liver disease. It is particularly meaningful to celebrate this milestone together with colleagues and friends from across Pakistan and around the world.
This year, our theme is “Treating the Liver: Changing the Trajectory.” It captures what we are all striving for in our daily practice—recognizing liver disease earlier, treating it more effectively, preventing complications, and ultimately changing the course of our patients’ lives.
We have planned an exciting and diverse scientific programme, bringing together experts in hepatology, gastroenterology, transplant medicine, radiology, pathology, and related disciplines. Beyond the lectures and scientific sessions, I hope this meeting will provide plenty of opportunities for discussion, exchange of ideas, mentorship, collaboration, and simply reconnecting with colleagues and friends.
I warmly invite you to participate, ask questions, share your experiences, and bring your own perspectives to the meeting. After all, the most valuable conversations at a conference often happen outside the lecture hall.
